Delicious Maple Glazed Ham
Sometimes making something fancy doesn’t need to be complicated, and this ham recipe is that time!
If you are having a small to medium gathering or just looking for a recipe that will make a substantial quantity for meal prepping, this recipe is it!
Instead of honey glazed ham we are taking a very Canadian route and glazing this ham with some maple syrup.
This recipe makes 5 servings. I know I don’t typically put quantities or servings on my recipes, because I want you to honor your hunger and fullness, but because this might be used to entertain I feel it is important that I let you know how many individuals it has the capability of feeding.
Ingredients
1.1 kg (2.5lbs) of Ham, bone-in
2 2/3 tbsp Water
3 tbsp Maple Syrup
1 tbsp Brown Sugar
2 1/4 tsp Dijon Mustard
1 1/2 tsp Fresh Rosemary, chopped

Preheat your oven to 300F. Place the ham in a casserole dish with water and cover with aluminum. Cook at 300F for 30minutes.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil, this will seriously help with clean up.
While ham is cooking mix together the maple, brown sugar, mustard, water and rosemary until the brown sugar is mostly dissolved.
Remove the ham from the oven and increase the temperature to 425F.
Move the precooked ham over to your parchment or foil lined backing sheet. Pour about 1/3 of the glaze onto the ham.
Place the ham back in the oven for 45minutes. Removing it ever 15 minutes to add another 1/3 of the glaze onto the ham.
Once cooked remove the ham from the oven, tent it with foil and allow it to rest for 15-20 minutes before serving to give it time to reabsorb it’s juices.
Notes:
No fresh rosemary use 1/2 tsp dried.
No brown sugar use coconut sugar or an extra tablespoon of maple.
Serve with roasted or mashed potatoes, green beans and a nice fresh salad for a whole meal.
